So much for feds lowering rates. Soon as the banks think more mortgage applications the 30&15 year rates go up. Up .21 so far today

Mortgages and fed funds rates are two completely different ends of the rate curve.

Yep, if bond rates come down so will mortgage rates from what I read. Banks can buy bonds at a higher rate with no risk so if you want a loan its going to cost more.


fed rates are just the cost for banks to barrow or some such.
Going from memory of some half hearted reading a few weeks ago. So I may not have it 100% right.
