We started with a bunch of empty traps, but it picked up a little when we started checking water traps. Had an empty #14 for the first time in my life, not sure what happened. The next set held one of the smallest beavers I've caught, was hoping for something bigger at that crossover but the kids were tickled. Had a muskrat in a pocket set, Emmett got excited and waded right in wearing only tennis shoes.

Next property has a coyote that I'm playing cat and mouse with. The kids got a real chuckle when we found that he had pooped on my trap. I'm hoping I fool him before deer season.

The next place, the landowner wanted to tag along. He watched us pull two decent beavers out of traps. Emmett and George discussed the finer points of professional beaver removal with the owner for about a half hour. He was so appreciative that he gave us five pounds of walleye as a thank you.

The final property had a nice sized skunk, and another happy landowner.

After all that we drove up north to do a favor and set a few beaver traps for a friend. I wasn't expecting as much activity as we ended up finding. We put in six beaver sets and two mink sets, but I wish I'd of had more traps with me. Ought to be catches in the morning.

After that we had to go trick-or-treating. Went to the local nursing home and three different old gals noticed George carrying traps for his costume. It led to three really fun conversations about their husbands or fathers trapping back in the day.
