I may have posted this before but thout it may come din handy especially for some of the younger members.

I like to keep a roll of toilet paper when hunting to mark the last spot of blood . It will leave a line easy to see through the woods and help give the direction it had been heading. It bio degrades and as it did this morning come in handy for its intended use and is better than cutting up my socks.

Something else I keep with me is the glow in the dark bracelet from the dollar stoor for kids or the mini glow sticks . they work great for marking blood trails at night and show direction of travel clearly when you turn off your lights.
They are also great when I hunt low flood plains by the river to mark the slight rise limited high ground ride and where the boat is . Water comes up fast sometimes and when its flooded you cat tell where the hig ground you walked in on is and where the creak and ditch Chanels are especially in the dark. noh
thing like geting out of your stand in waht was dry ground and thinking its only a few inches deep bu to hop into knee to wast deep water. One wrong step my be over your head. so snapping glow stick and placing them on the way in shows the way out clearly. Just pick them up and be sure thay hmget in the trash on the way out not left in the woods.

In large tracks of public ground they come in handy when in a new place going back deep where its easy to get turned around.

I never worried about that stuff as a kid but found somethings do make it easier and are worth packing with me.

What other multi use items do you find helpful to have. ( As I sit here and rember my compass got left on my truck seat)

I do you the toilet paper for tracking blood. I would rather use one of the phone gps apps for laying out a trail instead of marking one that every other person in the woods can follow to your stand - or move your markers and you end up somewhere in the dark you have no idea where you are

Works well untill your battery dies or your in a place with poor service. Great points though. Nothing like geting back to the boat you used to get access only to have had someone relocate it to the other side of the flooded creek. Its always nice to have family with boats can come pick you up an Over to the other side to your boat. That guy has a short life expectancy if we ever find out who it was. Even though I leave nothing in place and seldom are where others are as well. Sometimes there can be someone around to mess with you. Moving our boat could have been life threatening Had we tried to swim in that cold water and in the kicking current. and walking out of that flooded area just as dangerous.
