How much do you focus on being able to run your line quickly? Do you set in a big circle that you never have to double back or do you not worry as much about how long it takes to travel your line?

try not to double back as much as possible. thats just dead mileage on your vehicle unless you can road trap off 4 lane highways. I wont avoid double backs if enough catches are there to be made

I like to run a loop or just short spurs off it. But bottom line is you need to go where the critters you are targeting are. It doesn't do you any good to have a nice economical loop that flows smoothly if the critters aren't there.

When scouting new areas i use a topo map & mark all sign on post-its to attach to map. When home look at map & you will see a pattern. Make a line from that. There may be some clover leaf pattern to your looped line at times
