Are very irritating.

Doc said he would get my prescription sent over a month and half ago becuse it was expensive and would take the insurance company a few weeks to month to approve it.

At may last appointment a month later he said it didnt get sent in for some reason but would do it that day. Garrett

Got a call from health provider( woman more on that later) saying its was approved for 30 days and would need new approval. The pharmacy was not a preferred provider and that a mail to the house place was but would take more time to get set up. I asked how much added time ( woman talking) more on that later. 12 to 16 days.

Ok im at work 15 hrs into a 16hr shift. plant is loud and im tired. My hearing is bad and I have trouble with hig frequency tones ( female voices range). Becuse of my odd sceduald all call are listed to go to my wife, I missed 3 calls last week when I was asleep working nights( adding more time to geting script filled)

Lady talks like a woman lots of talking won't get to the point. Takes 5 minutes to get 3 sentences of needed info. I Have to ask questions to pull needed info out of her.

After I think we finally are set up for mail meds she as an after thought tells me I need to call to places to get on some program ro help of set my out of pocket cost. ( now im in equipment it's loud and I dont have anything to write with or on. That is when I asked her how much time this will addnto geting the meds.

I get a play by play of the process this part can take upbton48 hr that part has the same and insurance adds up to days. Lady I have bad hearing, its noisy, im tired with MS making that and irritability worse. With a short attentionspan im tired of shuffling through all your fillernwordsnto get the info needed. I Asked a simple question how long not an explanation of the process im thinking to myself.

So ok I have had this 5 years its geting worse, once damage is done there is no fixing it. The meds are supposed to stop or slow mor relapse causing more damage. New symptom = you have new damage and i have been having new symptoms and in a hurry to not get more.

So how much is my out of pocket if I pick it up locally the first month so I can get started and swap it over to mail in once started? Its not pick up it mail to your house. ( now im about to loses it trying to stay calm and friendly but its geting hard) so I let that go. and ask what would my out of pocket be. I got 9 k as an answer.

Eventually I hit I hit my limit of my ability to not loose it on the Lady and tell her forget it I will just let the ms run its course and hung up.

So much failure and incompetence is rampant in our system

1 send in the paper work on time. .

2 call number listed to call all forms are signed to give permission to speak with my wife and note put in the system.

3. Be direct clear and to the point. Not round about wasted talking( female style communication)


Wife want to call and get it figured out, im tired of the system and figure just let MS do it's thing and deal with it.

Our system is a mess . Durg companiesare a racket I begin to under stand better. My take may be wrong. Charge crazy high priced get max amout out of insurance companies and government. Leave high out of pocket cost not covered but offer programs to " help offset the out of pocket cost that cover most or all of it" Now that program is a tax deduction and likely gets them more government $ on top of that for having said program. Go to another country and get can get the 20k meds for $300.

Just the opposite here. Wife is getting very expensive cancer drug. $ 20,000/Mo. Oncologist prescribed it and hospital has a " facilitator" to help patients. The facilitator contacted the drug company (Astra Zeneca), filled out all the paperwork for our signature. The facilitator had to show denials from 3 charities for relief. She did all of that. They wanted income verification - no problem. She faxed to company and we started having Fedex deliveries to the house within 2 weeks. No cost to us. I would suggest that you contact your doctor's office and find out if they have a similar program.

Matt, let your wife call the woman and get it worked out.

The past few days have been educational to say the least.

Just to name a few…..

Medical staffs are way under appreciated.
Doctors need every nugget of information they can get outside of just the science.
People are truly mirrors and give back what they get.
God is in everything.

i too get frustrated with female word salad. ask your wife when or where she wants to eat lunch and sometimes she will talk for ten minutes and i still dont know

Wife made some calls . Turns out the woman that called was from the mail drugs place ot insurance company may be one and the same it was not clear. I had to call and verify she could talk to my wife. On top of the word salad and voice range I have trouble hearing the woman was a foreigner and I struggled with accents as well.

Wife got things more lined out speaking with the Dr office. Somehow My authorization for her to get info was voided.. So I had to get that taken care of so they could talk to her.

I could understand the American lady from my Dr office just fine and she stayed on point.


Danny if you give her 10 choices none will sound good. BUT if you pick one and say im taking you to______ she will be happy.

Or play the game guess where im taking you out for dinner. You have no clue but say yeas to her first guess because the first place she thinks of is where she wants to go.

it is almost a full time job making calls and straitening things out

if you aren't available on their schedule lord help you

don't try and keep it strait in your head keep a note book with times dates , who you spoke to and what department and company they are with.


yes I swear that some providers are waiting you out to see if you will say to heck with it , it doesn't hurt that bad or in the case of cancer can they delay long enough you go stage 4 and they say sorry no treatment


there is a huge disparity in the quality of care , the accessibility of meds and treatment , sometimes literally going across the street but if you are stuck in a system based on your insurance you are stuck

Sounds like everything is lined out took most of a day of phone tag . Started with 9k for my out of pocket to 2k to will ultimately be nothing. Meds should be delivered to the house by FedEx or UPS in about 14 days. I was hoping faster to hopefully prevent more damage. But its been 5 years already to get to this point, and we may not like it but have to play within the system we have.

Honestly I still dont want t shoot shots into my leg or take meds. I Don't even typically take an aspirin let alone prescriptions. But again back to play the hand we are dealt.
