Anyone use a chamber style vacuum sealer? I've used the food saver style ones for years and they work good, but tired of having to put a paper towel in the bag for wet meat. Just bought a chamber style, Vevor brand, which overall has good reviews. I tried vacuum sealing some deer loins and roast last night and it would not pull a tight seal. Upon further review via youtube, this seems to be a common problem with all of the the lower price point (sub $500) chamber models. What say you?
The Vacmaster vp215 is an oil pump machine and looks like it will do the trick but is $850.
I have the meat! one, works great. Can you adjust your seal or lubricate to get a tighter seal? What's the vac gauge drop to while operating? Sometimes an oil change will do the trick.
yes it will pull a tight seal on anything, in the last 2 years i've run over 200#'s of bacon, 200#'s of chicken breast, those are pretty greasy and i've had zero problems with it
what i still can't understand, is how it seals meat so tight, but my berries look perfect and not mashed
my daughter like's it because she can make large pots of soup, and seal the extra
Have you tried increasing your vacuum time? I have a vac master but have my vac time at 38 seconds and it does very well. Also make sure your bag is dry in the seal area.
I sent back the Vevor brand and just bought the LEM version. Costco has them right night for $399. Supposed to be here next thursday. I'll give it a try and let you know the results. LEM generally makes good products
I have a Vacmaster VP230. I highly recommend it. I have been running it for 5 or 6 years now, it has more than paid for itself in the money saved in bags as the they are a fraction of the price of the bags for the food saver type machines. I do about a dozen hogs, 2 beef, 6 to 8 deer per year plus some veggies and fish as needed. I have no complaints with it.
I really have no faith that any machine under $800 could possibly be built good enough to be worth the investment.
I have a Vevor and it will, sometimes, leave a bit of an air pocket on occasion, but it's not enough to cause freezer burn. I've used it for a couple of years without issue. I freeze soup, vegetables, spices, rice, meat, fish, cheese, whatever. Only time problems arise is when I try to vac seal hot liquids when I am in a hurry, it can get messy. Not sure which one you had, mine is the DZ-260C-V1, I believe. Mine has an oil pump.
ive got the vacmaster v230 and its performed perfect but it is pricey .my thoughts were if i had to do it again i would get vevor.ive gotten vevor brand stuff before and was impressed and much cheaper .i use my vacmaster mostly for salmon and bison.got to change oil regular but have never had any problems and it performs as good as they get..very heavy to move .i cant believe they can put that much weight in a 1 ft high x 2 ft long x1.5 wide container .i think close to 80 some lbs .purty heavy for a 72 yr old handicap person

I put mine on top of a rolling toolbox. I can roll it around where I need it and all the bags and other supplies are organized in the drawers below.
I bought a Vevor DZ 260 C after reading Trapperkeck. Very happy with it. I believe it says not to pack hot liquid because at room temp liquids boil during packing.
