I made it for my oldest for Christmas. Her mom and I are shipping a care package next week. It’s takes about a month for the US government to get stuff to her. At least it did when she was in Russia, she’s currently in Chile.

Pretty work.

Curious as to what she does for a living?

Nicely done. Wish I could buy nice dark walnut like that.

Show us the next one.

Good luck,

Pete

Beautiful work.

What did you use to cut your inlay/logo? I'm working on a black walnut chopping block now for a gift.

I don't think I could bring myself to cutting grooves in it. Beautiful work.

She’s a foreign service officer, works for the State Department out of different US embassies around the world.

I use a branding iron. A few years ago, when I was talking about transitioning from general contracting to custom woodworking my daughters designed the logo and bought me the irons.

I’m not sure if you’re also asking about the maple strips. They are just that, a couple of half inch strips I cut out of a maple board. I cleaned up the edges and glued everything together with waterproof glue.
