C.O. Trapper OP trapper C Joined: Mar 2014 Southwest Virginia	Don't know how many bear hunters we have but I was lucky enough to connect on my biggest black bear this week and was wondering if there where anymore bear hunters out there. This guy tipped the scales at 406lbs and some change. "Beaver will shine again."

As for the fat I've never tried that one day I hope to work up the nerve to try it something about bear fat that is just odd that even in 20 degree weather it never really firms up throws me off. "Beaver will shine again."

At least save it! A 5 gallon mail of good bear fat is a dang nice barter coin with the right person! Find someone that likes making their own pie crust and give it to them in trade for delish pies!! That some awfully white lard from a bear looks about like good leaf fat. I canned some meat today hopefully turn out good first time canning bear meat. "Beaver will shine again."
