Usually jerky and mixed nuts. A bunch of water. If it's really cold, I fill a thermos with tomato soup, it'll warm you up better than coffee.

If I'm sneak hunting all day, I just bring water.

When I was a kid the deer hunt snacks were the same every year - a tradition. An apple, caramels, pink mints and lemon drop candy. My uncle and cousins came down for the deer opener and brought them every year.

United we stand.

To look at me you would think I never missed a meal in my life. But when I go hunting for the day I eat nothing. Always felt it sharpened my awareness of what was in the woods around me. Same with trapping. I found if I ate during the day I was less likely to add more sets at the end of the day to increase my line.

Eating in the stand usually causes me to fight the dookey demon until I'm on the ground.

Urinating regular is a given.

Always a big breakfast before a morning hunt. A decent size chunk of cheese, some bottled water and a small thermos of coffee and I'm good for most of the day.

Eh...wot?

I almost never eat before going out in the morning. I also almost never bring food or drink with me. When I do, I can't leave it alone. I'm usually out for no more than 5 hrs, so I eat when I get home. I'm also not hunting in deep wilderness, so not too concerned about emergency rations.

Are you deer hunting and sitting? Youre eating out of boredom. I eat a decent breakfast then pheasant hunt for 5 hours through lunch. Maybe eat a cliff bar or something. Drink my supper. Rinse and repeat.

… I eat a handful of sassafras leaves at 0500

… sit in the woods until day cracks

… then run at full speed … faster than a wild Comanche

… overtake the the first deer I cross and manually rip its heart by way of its anus

… then I have a can of Vienna sausages and drink the juice

Insert profound nonsense here
