Been lucky this year with a few beaver. For what I didn't eat I cut the meat off & put into the freezer along with the leg bones, tails & feet.
What my thought is I'll use the meat chunks for bait in holes for yotes & wolf. Feet I'm thinking I'll try them in my marten & skunk boxes. The tails from what I found online is I cut it up into 1 inch chunks & set let sit in a container & forget about it awhile for tail oil..

Anything I should do differently on any of it?
Thanks

i dice -up both front feet and back then run thru my grinder 2x i let that taint for about a month then add tainted skunk meat beaver tail oil and some mink gland then stabilize
i like to run that paste for canines but it will take most anything

The leftover sludge from the tail oil making has proven productive for me

Beaver, I have found can be a 'hit or miss' bait for canines, especially coyotes in 'warmer' weather.
Now. . . let it get cold and most coyote will feed on them.
Warm up and I have seen coyote walk past them like they weren't even there.

That may be totally off in other parts of the country, Idk ?
Here in Central and SW Ohio where I trap, coyote will feed on a January beaver, but shun them come spring.

Ground up and ingredients added, it's a fair bait down a hole set, but then, isn't most meats slightly tainted and then preserved.
Yes, some better than others.

I have found the same thing here. I have dumped out my remaining beaver meat in the winter on my bait piles and the coyote don't seem to work them as well as deer scraps or road kills.

have found at different times even deer will not make them come to a bait but have usually figured out why
so time of year is one of the top things for example with many deer hunts starting or ending have found coyotes are spooky during hunts and and after usually not very hungry as gut piles, deer scrapes and even wounded deer are filling there bellies and if they are not hungry when coming to a beaver they are not eating but will make a mental note of where it is an come back in a day or two too see if anything is left also have noticed if snow is on the ground vs no snow, fozen ground vs unfrozen plus weather fronts moving in also makes them behave different

It has been my experience . . . that nothing will out perform white tail deer for drawing in canines.
Now this is in my area. I have, out west, used Mule deer and Elk, which worked very well.
Black tail scraps, antelope, sheep . . . I'm sure will be just as good.

I think, with deer, it's just natural for canines to find, then return time after time until the everything is gone.

Sheep, I also found does well, as does cattle and horse.

Coyotes here will take the rats and otters from the piles before they take the beaver. Cats on the other hand will take the beaver readily.

I can catch coyotes on just about any meat except beaver. Last carcass that are eaten out of the pile in the dead of winter. I have no idea why?? They do like beaver liver though.

This is an interesting thread. When I'm getting a bait going, I'll often start with deer scraps, as soon as I add beaver the coyotes eat them up before they go back to the venison. I just assumed that it was that way everywhere. I'm learning stuff today.

That's interesting, here the crows dont even sit on my otter carcasses. They will just lay and deteriorate.

Nothing...not even buzzards eat otter down here.

Fresh or tainted beaver is a hit or miss attraction for southern coyotes. Tail oil and/or the rendered tail chunks/mush work good.

Fresh or tainted beaver meat is very good down here for bobcat attraction.

I'm in Georgia too and deer seems to be very high on a coyote's preference list, fresh or aged. If it's aged, they'll dig to China.

What is your definition of aged? (It can mean a week, or two or two years).
