30-06 Trapper OP trapper Joined: Dec 2023 Minnesota	Anyone else go to an area in mn for the third weekend? I’m at my great grandmothers trying to fill her landowner tag. The rifle has no will of its own it may be used for evil but there are more good men than evil men and evil will be corrected by good men with rifles.

dakidsmn trapper Joined: Feb 2013 mn	Still out. Had a spike buck follow me to my stand this morning. Just climbed to the top of my ladder stand and sat down when I heard something walking up to my stand. Looked down with my head lamp and a spike buck was 5 feet from my gun and pack that I hadn't pulled up yet. Crazy how stupid young bucks are.

Upper part of the state of MN needs a longer season since there are fewer deer in most of those areas thanks to the high wolf population. I have several friends who no longer hunt that part of the state due to the low deer population. There was this bar that was so rough they checked you for a gun and if you didn't have one, they gave you one.
