Still out. Had a spike buck follow me to my stand this morning. Just climbed to the top of my ladder stand and sat down when I heard something walking up to my stand. Looked down with my head lamp and a spike buck was 5 feet from my gun and pack that I hadn't pulled up yet. Crazy how stupid young bucks are.

Crazy you all get so long to gun hunt deer. We get either 5 or 9 days depending if you choose first or second season.

Upper part of the state of MN needs a longer season since there are fewer deer in most of those areas thanks to the high wolf population. I have several friends who no longer hunt that part of the state due to the low deer population.

Down where I live we get two weeks and a three deer limit up north where I am now we get three weeks and one deer

I usually Grouse hunt this (3rd) weekend on public land and have never ran into a hunter. I do have a few spots on dead end roads that I can tell if anyone is around. If someone is there I move on.

I think you should get a tag and be able to fill it how you like. No reason for bow/crosbow/rifle

I think Wisconsin should go to two bucks per year anyway you want to take it. They can limit does as much as needed by area.

Boy get off your phone and get Grandma a deer. If you fail to do so, buy her beef all winter, and I bet next year you'll get her one!

Young man, while party hunting in MN is legal the person tagging the deer is supposed to be hunting.

I'm out for 3rd weekend. Heard wolves howling from the stand this morning. Thinking that might not be a good sign.

Wolves are moving farther south each year looking for food. We are starting to see more of them in central MN. Once they start killing pets and livestock in central MN hopefully people will wake up and we will start seasons to reduce their overpopulation.

I saw trail cam pictures of two wolves near Alexandria last spring. I agree that it will be interesting when depredation occurs down there. We surely could stand to have fewer wolves up here.

Two years ago, one person had a video taken from his phone of a wolf on the outskirts of Rice, MN that I saw.

I've hunted Northeast Minnesota zone 126 for over 50 years. Very low deer population consequently not as many wolves as past years.I thought after 2 mild winters I would see more more deer. Maybe too much clear cutting in my area for moose habitat. I did shoot a nice 8 point the only deer I saw. Our two sons from out of state did come home to hunt with their old dad so the season was a success!

That was my first thought !
