I agree, Mi. has the second worse regulation on CR's in the country only the states that don't allow any form of snaring on land are worse.

I can't recall but is 1x19 3/32 cable allowed for CRs in Mi.? Beav reports great luck with it vs 7x7 for preventing chew outs.

Yes 1x19 is legal. It’s better than 7x7 for sure but I’ve seen plenty of chew outs still on a line where you can be pushing up to the 24 hour check. With a relaxing lock and the giant “dog stop” they seem to pretty easily spin that cable to a side position where the chewing commences. I’m not sure if there’s much worse than a cable coyote

The thing is that 1X19 doesn't unwind like 7X7. Once that cable starts to unwind It's easier for that coyote to chew out. And the barrel swivel also helps to keep the cable from unwinding.
