Love it. This picture reminded me of this Bible verse.
Catch us the foxes, The little foxes that spoil the vines, For our vines have tender grapes. Song of Solomon 2:15

Way to go trappers.
That habitat is unknown to most on here. If Aal could tell us just a little about the location, the ditches, the raccoon population, etc we are all ears.

Is that a hand-me-down shirt/jacket she's wearing? It looks like in might need some growing into. LOL She picked that jacket out last week. She wanted to look like Papa Dale. She said she needed a big jacket cause she was "growing up" She put the twinkle for life back in my eyes when she was little and I was going through a rough time. She has unlimited unconditional love.

My fondest memories are hunting with my grandfather. I am sure they will also be Aalaiya's fondest memories someday.

We live in the grapebelt of Western New York, along the shores of Lake Erie. There's somewhere around 25,000 acres of mainly concord grapes. Used mainly in the juice and jelly industry, like Welches. I've trapped more reds along the intersections of grape vineyards and ditches as I have on crop row corners and hay fields. Lots of cricks that lead to lake Erie and many coon in those creeks. When the grapes start to ripen most animals take advantage of it. Coons, deer, fox just to name a few. Once you get about three miles inland from the lake grapes don't do good and it goes back to corn, hay, soy etc.. All this with large tracks of hardwoods between. It's beautiful country. If it weren't for the city's like Buffalo, Syracuse, New York we'd live in a paradise The Catskills and Adirondack mountains are just unbelievable Miss Aalaiyas sets were both picked along two track intersections in an overgrown and abandoned grapes vineyard. There was a spike buck staring at the fox about 15 yards away when we pulled up. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/11/full-53947-275972-217.jpg)

Where, precisely, do you live, Dale? Born and bred in Niagara County. Lived in Buffalo for a short while. My grandfather had a small vineyard that was completely overgrown when I was a kid. Lots and lots of pheasants and rabbits.... and more than a few nice bucks.... died in that vineyard.

OK I see you on a map. I am from Ransomville.... sometimes called Ransomtucky, lol, if you've ever heard of it. Western NY is awful beautiful country!!! I would move back there in a heartbeat if y'all didn't have such God-awful politicians.

Know where you are Dale. Ran around a lot with a fly rod back before combat fishing days. Mostly Pa side. It's been years. I drooled of trapping the grapes.
Best post on here man.

I've lived in a vineyard most of my life. Surrounded by grapes and hardwoods. Trappings good but I do miss the Grey fox though. They dissappear a few years after the yotes showed up.
