About a year after highschool I ran into my best friend from when I was 5 to 10 years old lost touch after I moved across town. Hung out with him off and on over a few months. Went to his uncle's house with him once. Several acres with blue plastic barrels cut out liks a dog house but each one had a rooster teathered with rope to its leg. In some out buildings were padded rooster shape fabric dummies in a short broom handle About a 8" to a foot. His uncle said the 4 shot in the shotgun was for Arial predators. I never made it to any of the events. Quit hanging out again after a short time. Different lifestyle I think he ended up in jail or prison. I know he stole a dirt bike and got caught after crashing it running from the owner when they recognized the bike. I have always been glad we moved. Every kid I grew up with in that neighborhood ended up in trouble it seems.

It was the first time Inknew (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) fighting was a big thing. My friend talked like he made a lot of money at them. He may have ot it could have been all talk. I never went so have no clue.

I was told that those fighting dogs are wagging their tails before being released in the pit. They like it. Chickens are not forced to fight either. They just do it.

I never watched a dog fight. Not something I would enjoy. I'm also not going to tell someone else they shouldn't let their dogs or chickens fight. Even though the animals want to.

Anyone ever watch 2 turkey gobblers fighting ? I saw it 1 time and it was something to see. Jumping off of the ground, flaping wings and hooking with there feet. They both did a lot of pecking at each others heads. the fight must of lasted at least 10 maybe 15 minutes. Oh yea, they both walked away.

had a cat fight in the yard and only one was able to walk away the other was stationary gasping flat on its side. no blood or easly visible damage. I never thought they wre fatal befor I saw that. Typically see one run off with the other in pursuit or standing watching. The way ae have had Tom's com back with riped ears, eased and swelled up infected heads and paws I thought that was as bad as it got.

Found out I was wrong.

6 year old girl just got mauled by two pitts in Omaha.

There is a large dog fighting problem here too. My brother was attacked by a pit while putting air in hit tire at a gas station. The responding state trooper told him there is a big dog fighting problem here as well. The trooper said pitts are being bred for fighting. Only the best ones are kept for fighting, the rest are either culled or worse yet end up in shelters or rescue projects. These dogs are bred from fighting moms and dads, it’s hard wired in them. Just like the best hunting dogs come from moms and dads that hunt.

My grandfather "pop" DISalvo as well as my Dad and Uncle used to fight chicken in the 60's, 70's by the eighties it was hard do, and Pop got caught a few times.. He bred his own line of white pure white fighter that were very good. I remember there where, whites, greys, red, and spackles as he called them. He fought with the pin spurs not the knives. I wen tot just one fight when I was oh 14 or so with him and his friends. its the only thing he did NOT teach me how to do.I feel he knew it was dying and illegal and he didn't want me to get wrapped up in it.

He said he went to one dog fight, said it was to brutal and never went to another.

all i gotta say and someone already did. them dogs are wagging their tails and chomping at the bit to go fight their (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) off. lot like any ufc fighter. everyone thinks people force these dogs to fight or these roosters that just isnt the case. they are prize fighting machines. some are so good like (conor megregor) or (george st pierre) they will not stop until victory is acheived or die trying.

i got 2 boys that wrestle and they would rather die then lose. there aint no quit in them. so i have a certian respect for something that dont give up and keeps fighting. never quit.

just like hog catch dogs. they go till they cant.

been around pits my whole life have owned several of them and still do. i been bit by labs, gsps, walker hounds, chiuahua, beagles, heelers, never been bit by a pit in my life. not saying they dont bit but ive been bit more by other breeds than a pit. and ive been around way more pits than other breeds.

thats all carry on

I don't like pitbulls, but to subject them to fighting and consider it entertainment is cruel and pathetic.

There was this bar that was so rough they checked you for a gun and if you didn't have one, they gave you one.

You've got to be a special kind of dirt bag to enjoy that, for sure.

Thats what folks say about hunting and trapping. I wont participate in dog or chicken fights but we trappers should be on their side.

WHY? To equate hunting and trapping with dog and cockfighting is ludicrous. There is nothing similar about them!

That's like comparing a good married couple raising their children to a couple of transvestites adopting and indoctrinating kids.

I dont like watching 3-4-5 coursing hounds chase down a coyote and rip it to shreds but I will never try to deny the houndsmen the legallity to do it

Those birds and dogs are selectively bred for generations to fight with viciousness. And the sole purpose of it is for people to gamble and get their jollies by watching them attack, and injure, and often kill each other. It's sick. My personal view is that is not what God had in mind when he created the earth and every living thing and gave man stewardship over them.

Not going to comment on the ethics, but you have to be some kind of stupid to be doing this sort of things out in the open under the bright lights. It is illegal. No one has an enclosed shed where they could at least try to be descreet?

Oh poppycock…they are absolutely forcing them to fight. They get dropped in a ring and they either fight or they die…not much choice there. That’s like dropping you in a coliseum with a gladiator and someone telling you they aren’t forcing you to fight…you fight or you die. Good grief
crazy
