For those of you that run Jakes, which setup is better - the MB crunchproofs or the full rod swivels?

I've never ran rod swivels personally.

What are you trying to accomplish? I run mine right out of the box.

I like the rod swivels especially next to the trap. They are thinner and seem to bed easier for me.

seems like a bit of sacrilege for that trap to not run rod swivels

A western coyote trap that can run into a wolf or lion. I've only ran the MB crunchproofs, but have been told rod swivels were the way.

Have run them with both and have not seen any problems with either. BUT I would recommend putting a weld on the gap of the j-hook if you are in wolf/lion country.
My biggest issue believe it or not is possum in grassy areas in any foothold trap....they are so close to the ground they foul the swivels up terribly.
Like 52Carl said "run them out the box"....plenty of swivels...does any other foothold have more swivel points on a trap from the manufacturer?

I weld all Jhooks shut on my bigger traps.
