my son smoked a brisket last year , he trusted it on the table for about 2 minutes while he ran to the kitchen , HIS dog decided it was the best thing ever
it had just been sliced so only lost about half.

The day after Christmas a few years ago our dog was scratching at the door to get back inside. When I let her in she was proudly carrying the leftover half of a ham. She rarely left the yard but couldn't resist that smell I guess. The neighbor wasn't happy but also had to laugh about it.
