LOL!!! True and when I do go with a gun I take 2 shells. That method has come back to haunt me though. I still only take two. Lol Just playing fair.

I love seeing a guy with a huge deer and a rifle that isn't $5,000 with a $3,000 scope.

The only problem with killing a buck like that is it's all downhill from there on. But I could live with that.

True monster of a deer. I hope its legit. Sometimes I wonder if some of the giants shot these days aren't farm raised deers transported to different locations. Lot of intrest in the glory of killing a world class buck nowadays.

I sometimes wonder about the prevalence of farm genetics in wild deer. Even if a doe got out of a farm she would almost certainly produce world class bucks.

Im not completely sure of that. Im not completely familiar with deer farming but I'm sure the feed is designed directly for antler growth and its probably quite different than what's available in the wild. Im pretty sure there are pharmacitcol and hormones used to aid antler growth. Throw in environmental pressures and the deer that bred the doe and id think the results wouldn't be anything like the deer farms results. I will say most hunters in most areas would be surprised how big their bucks could get if they would let them get some age on them, especially if they have ag field in the area. Thats why I'm a fan of shooting a doe over a small buck unless your a beginner hunter.

Question: Have you spent any time in SD during the rut?

If so, you wouldn't be surprised that someone shot a buck like this. I'm always amazed at the bucks I see in SD.
