Some creek draws I trap for cats have high walls some over 100 feet high no roads it’s all on foot it’s so rough. I’m not expecting much from the cell cams just have a couple places I’ll try them in where they might work at. Cat county is not really cell signal friendly here I’m just seeing what they will do, the places they might work the best cell cam locations probably doesn’t hold many cats.

I’m running 5 chip cams and 2 cell cams I’m trying this year it’s not a huge line but it’s good cat country I always pick up a few cats where theres not a lot of cats but enough.

I have been using Spypionts for 5 years now. Always the free plan. Some cameras go over each month, Ill just wait for the next month or go out and pull card and replace with another, I have 10 and usually have one or two in hand. I hang mine high(8'-10') so there is less chance of people seeing them and taking them. I use climbing sticks to deploy and retrieve, along with a 1/4" screw eye and a 1/4" 20 eye bolt for precise aiming, both are 3' long to get away from tree. Straps are not good enough for aiming. Rechargeable Lithium batteries are what I have been using, If you have a camera that you want to be trouble free for an extended period of time the solar panels work great for that. The frensel lens looks for movement and heat signature, which will cause some heat pictures. Heat pictures are a PITA, not much you can do about it other than increase the time between pictures in the app when you get them. I always try to aim to the North to reduce the sun from washing out some pics. I have also tried the Moultree cameras and I will stick with Spypoint, Moultree has gone to no sd card so you cannot save the pictures to your computer, I realize you can by downloading to your phone then emailing them to yourself. Like I want to do that for a couple hundred pictures. Spypoint is free and that is what I like the most about them, picture quality is ok with the app, when you retrieve your card you get the HD versions.

The texting photos to your email is a thing of the past now the major carriers dropped that feature it was probably the main thing I used my phone for in the past. Features gone but the bill didn’t get any cheaper.

Pics look fine to me. Thanks

Test photos? New to this myself I see it has a chip so I’m guessing you get the photos no matter what but I’m not 100% on that.

You can have it take a picture when it syncs. A daily time that you pick.

I hate subscriptions to ANYTHING. I’ll gladly take the bad reliability reviews to get those 100 free photos a month. Watch the blowout deals and you can amass an army of spypponts.

I have spy point cameras and dont have any serious issues. Seems like work well enough for the money. Son was first given one of the add on sending units that go on our regular trail cameras. We only were using them on bear baits and it saved us alot of checking reading card. Thing about those units and we have two. Is we now had 8 batteries in the cell unit and 8 in camera. My son seen the cameras in a twin pack on sale so grab one. Is nice to only need to do 8 batteries. Last spring I came across a double pack on clearance at FF so I grab them.
The 100 fee picture thing worked out okay for the most part. We didn't have the camera on the bear baits for months at time. So if you can get them set so you don't have 100 pictures of chipmunks and raccoons. Your okay.
I just took two of our cameras out of the woods by our deer stands.
I've gotten so we only put they in the woods couple weeks before season. But I do have the 4 best cameras on the $10 unlimited plan. Thats because we I use the now pretty much year around as cameras at my lake property. Biggest problem we have is squirrels chewing on them. I had to epoxy some spots they chewed let water in when rained.
I don't need wall hanger quality photos so they fine with us. Just like to see what critter run the yard when we aren't around.
See this guy on camera we call driveway cam. Cameras have been there now 3 years first fox on camera. Deer is on different yard camera.

So they don’t send in “real time” or as close to real time as possible?
