I just returned home from my first post surgery visit with my back surgeon.

Turns out he had to add a lot more hardware than originally anticipated.

I ended up with
14 screws
6 rods
2 cages

I'm 2 weeks out now and still sore, but it's getting better every day.
It going to be a long time before I know what my physical limitations will be..

Here's a couple pics or what my spine looks like as of this morning

That's a lot of hardware. Sending prayers for good healing and a successful outcome.

I opted to not have surgery,,, I’ll be straight up honest and admit that I’m terrified to have it done.
For reasons only known to GOD,, I’m able to do things that I didn’t think I was
Possible again. Lamenectomy and cervical fusion because of the cervical stenosis.

I ll pray for your speedy and full recovery… you have wayyyy more guts than me…

Corky, that could be an entertaining and profitable bar stunt if they could use ferrous metal. I like it !

Foxkidd44, I'm not kidding when I say that I was scared to death to have this done.
The Laminectomies and cutting bone out right next to my spinal cord. The horror stories kept running through my brain. My spine at the pelvis was curved the wrong direction along with the scoliosis putting yet another kink in it, I was honestly scared. But I also knew that if I didn't have this done I would end up loosing my foot.

One thing I don't like is that all of this new titanium in my back coupled with 2 titanium knees, I get cold easy now.

I don't know how agile I will be in the later part of the season so I'm not counting on footholds this season.
But I am planning on TRYING to catch a bobcat in a cage this season. As of right now I'm still planning on getting a couple cages out as close to January 1st as I can. That's depending on how I'm healing up.

WOW, that is a lot of metal, sure hope it helps you, listen to your doctor, and do what they say, I worked with two guys that had similar problems, and got feeling good and did too much and ended up bad, sending prayers for a good turnout,

Sitting here with my back hurting right now. I did something to it around ten days ago and it's not much better. After seeing this post I think I'll give it a good while to get better before I go to the doctor. eek

Thanks to everyone for the prayers and well wishes.

They are appreciated and important to us.

I'm about to finish off the care package that the TMan Discretionary Fund sent to us.
Thanks Zim and Patrice for that. Very good eats in it.

Another testament to the caliber of people that we have on this board.
