I sure don't like my tax dollars being used to buy votes. Don't have and won't have any kids can qualify. So my tax dollars used like this are a no from me.
Im still waiting for my DOGE rebate, my Tariff rebate, not taxes on SS. Don't qualify for any of the farm subsidies being handed out from Tariff money.

You are a good parent to get them started investing, and in a position to learn from their mistakes. Better to learn now before the stakes are higher.

Mutuals and ETF's seem to be the government chosen winners. There is nothing that stops parents from having a savings fund currently for their children currently with no rules.

Hyperinflation is probably the best reason to not have all of your eggs in one basket...especially cash.

I agree with much of this post, kids should be learning about finances. Many times, the parents do nothing to help them. Lucky for me my dad got a finance degree before becoming a grain farmer. Many schools do have entrepreneurship programs, at least here they do. If they aren't doing that in Alberta, you gotta bust your prov. governments chops for that.

In terms of investing clubs, I am going to assume this would be done by playing with fake money so to speak and there are laws regulating investing done by minors. If so, I like the idea.

I saw I can open an account with Fedility for kids they can trade with on their own at 13 but get notifications on it still. Seemed to be something new according to the emails.

My son was in med school and went to a finance class his first year in med school. On the first day, the professor said the best way to have a lot of money was dont get married. He said if you do get married, dont get divorced.

Both true but I believe not getting married leads to a less fulfilling life. If the instructor didn't get into lifestyle creep for Dr's I youe son should ask for a refund. More school teacher retire millionaires than Dr.'s despite the hight gap in pay. And teachers also get married and divorced.
