Bout 10 years ago, I took a chance

Ordered some shrimp from Biloxi Shrimp

I did so because my wife like gulf shrimp much more than Atlantic

10 years later, I won't be going back, great company and great service

Just a thought, 10 pounds or more is free shipping, never hD a issue

Keith, is this them?

At 10 pounds, those prices, with shipping, are much better than other shrimp companies I've looked at, if still not cheap.

Pamlico Sound white shrimp are my favorite. About now they are catching green tail shrimp in the ocean I think.

Thanks. Do they ever do specials or better deals?

Are shrimp cheaper certain times of year?

We eat a lot of shrimp, mostly from Kroger, Walmart or Aldi. They can range from pretty good to barely edible. They sometimes put something in the shrimp that leaves a terrible metallic aftertaste.

I bought some crawfish tails from Walmart, that had a Louisiana sounding name, that were totally inedible because of the metal taste. When I looked at the package better I realised they came from Asia.

Out in the country in Ohio is a hard place to get good seafood.

Are you certain that the shrimp that you buy from Kroaker, Wallfart, or Alibi aren’t grown in Asia?

Gulf shrimp, I've always heard also has more toxins in them.
Wouldn't know if that's true or not.
Just what friends tell me in Louisiana.
The gulf in some spots is pretty nasty overall

* Here we buy Prawns, raised in ponds in-land.

The bottom of the oceans, and most waterways, are pretty nasty, overall.

I stopped buying the shrimp that are from Asia. The packages are labeled with country of origin. Most of the metallic tasting shrimp were from Asia, but not all. I think it's likely some sort of preservative that causes the off taste. Shrimp seems to vary a lot in quality, from one trip to the store to the next, even when the packaging is identical. There's likely multiple US suppliers.

Do you buy them from Freshwater Farms in Urbana, or somewhere else?
