I understand your sentiment but it just isn't so. The armed conflict that became the Rev war began in New England which now is just a little behind Oregon in liberal insanity. Society changes and people's social and political views change. In your own state, Houston, the city named for the former President of the Republic of Texas, is a hotbed of liberalism, as is Austin and a number of other big cities. It seems to me to be more a battle between rural and city. I hate the politics here in Va because it is ruled by the liberals in the NE part of the state. Local politics here in the southwest of the state are solidly conservative, although we do have some snowflakes. The same is true of Illinois where I have a number of friends that live down state from the Chicago area.

How many generations back did your kin fight in that war? I bet a good genealogist would find some of your ancestor fought on both sides.

Australia doesn't seem to be headed in a good direction to me the way their firearms laws have become so restrictive lately. What's better in Australia than here?
