Tony Taylor and negativity as usual

Warrior, did one close but the same a few years back

Memorial day weekend and I assume the deer got hit on the road

Made it to the stairwell at a elementary school and died there

Again just an assumption, had to be hit on Friday or Saturday

By Tuesday morning, school in session, the deer had bloated and popped

Oh my what a nasty adventure, should have charged more but didn't

Gave the school's resource officer a pair of gloves, slipped a few bills in his pocket

Dang that was rough

Not enough, lol.

Time and distance. Ask as many questions as I can to determine difficulty, get photos if possible. Estimate time to do, one hour minimum, and drive time, two hour minimum, figure around 100/hr. Provide firm quote based on information given.

Most jobs, just laying in yard, can be bagged and loaded in just a few minutes. But advanced decomp, deer pudding, takes longer and includes deodorizing, baking soda carpet fresh. Retrieval from fences and water more difficult.

What gets interesting is dead pets.

Most of the time it's fresh dead in and out. Just act right and respectful, and always ask the breed. I had a Saint Bernard to haul out once.

Sometimes, you want to beat the crap out of the owner. I once called in animal control and the police.

I draw the line at livestock. I can't do horses and the last pot belly like to have broke me.

Pot belly. ???

Oh my what a dang memory !! I picked one up from a

elderly couples home, they just got too old to deal with it

Here I am crusing down I 40 from Winston to burlington with

A300 pound pig in the back of my nissan

All went well, had the pig tethered to the hilt, he wasn't going anywhere

Real nice fat pig, the old folks fed him well

Dropped him off that nite at a new petting type zoo in Mebane

Better memories than some

I hate it when someone runs over and kills a deer here in front of the house. I'll take the 4 wheeler and drag it up the road a couple hundred yards or so. Coyotes and buzzards usually have it picked clean in a couple of days.

I moved too many of those critters. It was always much nicer when you could do it in one piece.

Some of the worst I dealt with was trying to find a bullet in a poached animal in advanced stages of decompostion. The ones that you could actually hear the pounds of maggots and beatles crawling in. When you pull those apart and use a metal detector finding bullet fragments and bullets the stench can be unbelievable. And it stick to your clothes and hair. One of the least favorite parts of my career for sure.

My brother has contracts with several NJ counties and townships for roadkill and other dead deer. No one in the family eats rice. (let that statement sink in for a minute).

I have led the way for getting out two different sets of nice bucks that was locked together. They was rank but would have been worse if it hadn't been cold. Had to cut the heads off all 4 bucks in order to get them apart. Out of each set one buck had a drop tine, that seemed to be what held them. They get hot and run for the water and drown.
I never made anything out of it except memories, one was for a kid about 14 yr old and the other was for an old man in his 80's. They got the trophies !

I got a call a few summers back for a dead deer. I asked how long it had been there. "Well, we've been smelling it for about two weeks." 85* every day, and with all that info, you still can't imagine what this thing looked like. It was moving. If there wasn't half a million maggots, there wasn't a one. I put disposable gloves on and grabbed ahold. Attempting to drag it to the truck. Only made it a foot, when the entire pelvis disconnected. I managed to get it into a couple construction bags and into the truck.
My next stop was 30 miles away. I should have reversed my route of course. So all the way to the next stop, I can smell this foul thing. I just knew I stepped in the goo or got splattered. My reading glasses I hang on the front neck of my t-shirt, and apparently had touched them with my gloves on. The smell was inches from my nose the whole ride. I did not charge enough for that one.

Brian that reminds me of the scene from "Dances with Wolves" when he is cleaning out his water hole and that big buck starts to surface. Great drinking water I bet, lol. That scared me just watching it knowing it was fake !

A hitch hauler is very useful.
