Boy Scouts got EMT / First Aid training
twice a year at Slippery Rock U.
That ended in 1976 because of liability.
So who is liable now Edgar.
Lots of "Whattt?" in these reports.
Pretty much the norm aye.
Terrible for those involved.
you know I just looked a the EMT course at the local community college , cost is on par with 1 doctors visit about 900 dollars they Teach it Tues, Thurs and Sat for one semester and you look to be ready to take the certification
I bet for 500 they could teach half of it on one night a week and Saturday and no certification , then you would have good Samaritans trained to do the needed care but not "certified " emts so still covered under the good Samaritan law many states have.
my youngest took CNA training in Highschool the district paid , honestly every high school student mature enough to not be a nuisance in the classes should take it , they learn so much about how to navigate the medical system.
they ultimately decided being a CNA was not for them , but great education
there was some question if the district was going to get the cost of it when we first signed up for it , and I said well how much is it , they said 330 dollars , I said I was thinking you were going to say 3300 dollars , are you kidding me comming from home schooling a few years ago we dropped 330 dollars books for a semester and didn't think much of anything about it , not that we were well off at all but compared to private school that is nothing , education isn't cheap , but it costs less if it doesn't kill you in the learning process.
