Bout -10 this morning, stayed warm enough when moving but waiting for a doe and fawn to work close my feet got pretty cold. Had cheap socks and and 1000 gram Irish setter boots. How are you guys that spend time in real cold staying warm? I've been going thermal layer, insulated pants, sweatshirt and jacket. Having a bit of trouble with feet and hands.

pack boots for your feet. and Toe/sole warming stick-ons from Hot Hands, etc.

With me if gloves or boots are too tight I get cold. Especially gloves with wrist bands. Thinner socks actually help sometimes if thick socks make my boots too tight. Staying warm while not moving at -10 is kind of a tall order. Lol

I love winter but after a while when that chill gets in, it’s hard to get it out. When you’re cold tired or hungry it’s hard to think about hunting and you wanna go home and get hot food and be cozy.
Hope I can get out this weekend and fully intend to use my fur mittens until it’s time to pull the trigger. I couldn’t do that during archery.

If you can find bunny boots, they are the best I've found for keeping your feet warm
My problem is that my feet are so big that I can't find warm boots anymore.

I'm size 16, so I understand. If you can find some lacrosse ice kings, they are decent, and available up to a 15.

Mickey Mouse boots work very well for me ice fishing for hours.

I like the Toe Warmers from Hot Hands too. I just bought some more to last me the rest of the deer season. They are great for long periods of sitting on stand in cold weather. They will make even a marginal pair of boots warm enough.




I wear military ECWCS long underwear in various weights depending on the temperature, merino wool socks and polyester or wool outer layers, including a neck gaiter and gloves.

Beta Bunny boots, sized to be loose on foot. I am currently wearing a pair from 1974. Purchased new in 2009. Best boots ever for cold weather.

I'm going to look into a pair of bunny boots, I see some options in my size. Thanks guys, the only days I have off work are typically real cold or raining, I have good rain gear, may as well invest into some better cold weather gear.

I wore bunny boots for years when I was younger and they were probably the warmest boots I've owned, waterproof too. The only drawback is they're very heavy.

My favorite all-time, cold-weather boots are a 20+ year-old pair of American-made Irish Setter Buck Trackers with 1600 grams of Thinsulate. They have been the 2nd warmest, driest, most comfortable pair of boots I've owned. I have many times still-hunted down creeks in swamps with them and never got wet feet.

Those boots are pretty much wore out now. They leak and aren't as warm as they used to be because the insulation has compressed. I bought a newer pair of Irish Setters a few years ago but the were Chinese-made crap. They leaked right out of the box and customer service was a bad joke.

I'm still researching a good, warm pair of leather boots and until I find some, the Toe Warmers get me through.

I’ve yet to experience winter weather clear up to the territories wind or otherwise that can defeat the combo. A fur hat takes care of the part of me that thinks I should be out in those elements.
Spendy but incredible what new lightweight options are out there and how good they are.
