Living the dream. Our pheasant are virtually extinct. That and spring turkey are my favorite. Will go to a release place here in a few weeks with the family. Took our 5 month old GSP out today for her first real run.

Looks like a good time. You guys hunting private ground or CREP/Walk-In ground?

Couple from Sd hunt last five days.

Tough conditions, foot of snow on the cattails, single digit temps with winds to match them. That is solid ice on the dogs back he couldn't shake off. Cattails dumped snow on the dogs every step and edges all drifted in.

Tired dogs at the end of the day.

Been a good year so far here and the weather decided to separate the men from the boys. Almost 2 months of season left and we just got another 7 or so inches of snow today on top of the 5-6 we had. 13 for a high tomorrow, should be awesome out there. I LOVE snow hunting for roosters.

Thanks for the pictures. Great hunting. In the 60's,70's and into the early 80's we had pheasants, quail and rabbits here. Now a few rabbits and maybe a pen bird or 2.

The CREP/Walk-in/ Plot ground is tough hunting now. Birds were bunched up and sailing in and out to ag ground. Saw hundreds daily, scratching in wind swept ag fields due to snow depth. Actually "pass shot" a rooster flying over a cattail bowl I was hunting as he flew out of a corn field to a piece of posted private, he didn't see me until too late.
I was shooting an old Browning A5 12 gauge i just rebuilt. 160 user called me from a local gun show and said I needed to come look at the old beater. He just wanted to sell me some lumber he had for it, so he got my money! I think he's up in your country now chasing long tails.

It’s about the same here, birds are bunched up hanging in buck brush, tree rows and cattails. I’m focusing on the cattails, we probably move close to two hundred yesterday most of those going out 100 yards or so in front of the dogs.. but we also had some outstanding points and flushes.

Just admit it, it's an addiction, once you've had snow thrown in your face from a rooster flushing close, there's no going back, but buying a new/used shotgun helps in the off season! LOL
