Poor engineering on their water lines...nowhere near cold enough for long enough to be causing those problems yet.

How is the cutter and tip on that auger?

Seems like the wrong time of the year to be building fence in the tundra laugh

It was -17 at the house yesterday morning for the low. Water lines are eight foot down here. A foot of frost is nothing, and should not freeze a water line in the north.

Here, after a cold snap, when it's relatively sunny, the ground will be frozen less than an inch down, for a few inches and the top will be thawed mud. It makes it easy to slip. The dirt on top will slide on the ice below. You have to take short steps, so you don't slide and fall or tear something. It's easier to walk early or late in the day, when the surface is frozen too.

unfortunately we got that 11 inches of snow just as the lakes froze over so even with the cold we haven't got great ice yet

I did hear they are out on a few of the bays with 4 inches but stay away from any channels they aren't froze good yet

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
