Almost 200 bucks for a 2 year registration on the pickup..... They keep hustling new plates for about a hundred dollars, but my old plates are good enough thank you.....

This year it was only $442 dollars to drive on our crooked road. We did get the new honeybee license plate. We are charged property tax before we can get our plate.

Ours were dirt cheap but they have more than doubled in the last 20 years. I have some old mini trucks I collected that have the old registration in the glove boxes that I’m going by. The same with the sales tax on vehicles it was 3% now it’s 4% we had a governor that just loved to raise taxes to inflate his legacy in his 2nd term.

my insurance costs way more than that and unlike the live free or die state , it is mandatory here and the first thing cops ask for , they could care less if you have your registration on you , they want that insurance card.

Alaska-Z tags for vehicles over 9 years old about $100.00 lifetime registration/tags. For life of vehicle as long as you or vehicles last. Great deal but it does not transfer to buyer upon sale of vehicle.

my one truck is over 25 years old I thought about putting collector tags on it , if it was a car I would for sure ,but as a truck over 20 years old it cuts your weight bed load capacity to 350 or 500 pounds and it can not be used in January.

the lifetime collector tags are about 230 dollars once , I specifically use that truck to haul my firewood and other stuff so I easily go over weight

I also intend to drive it in January

roads need $ to be maintained , car tags are one way they are collected , I do wish the state Government had never been allowed to dip into the gas tax money to do anything but roads , but they balanced the state budget with it many times.
