Are the Belisle worth the xtra $100 per dozen? Dukes about $90 while Belisle are $190.

I've been using Belisle's 120's up threw the 330's for years and years and years and they have MORE then with stood the test of time. I've had to replace a few triggers but that's about it. Money well spent.

Unless you're going to use them year around for ADC work or something, I wouldn't pay the difference.

I've been having the same internal debate about their 160s. Looking to gear up a bit for fisher trapping next year.

Gary, I played with the Duke 120s ...I exchanged the dog and trigger for the Belisle and have had good results on skunks...check what the replacement parts and time would cost.

I don't own any dukes. I had several brands of 120's I fought with for years. Last year I bought a dozen Belisles. They are solid with great triggers and great spring safeties. My only regret with them is I didn't buy them years ago. If you buy the Belisles and use them you will not regret paying extra for them. I replaced the trigger wires with Expanda Pans for use in baited boxes and they kill everything Fast.

A Duke 160 or a 120 will kill a critter just as dead as a Belisle will. And for less money.

Have you ever used a Belisle?

I have only used dukes and rgb body grips. They work same as duke foot holds work . I'm guessing the difference is about the dame as comparing ducks with my mb or bridges. the mb and bridges are nicer BUT cost more and don't catch any more critters than my dukes. I just like small thing about th nicer traps a little better.

I much prefer a duke to get ran over by a tractor or stolen than my nicer traps. Since I only trap a little and mostly on my farm or friends I don't that much issue any more.


Then again I may not know what I'm missing since I don't use body grips much. So there may be a bigger difference between them with body grips. I Like cables better.

I bet I could catch more with 2 dozen Dukes than 1 dozen Belisles.

I had 4 dozen 160s yes, they killed critters. I got rid of all 4 doz I didn't like the dog, and I caught too many coon by the front foot and all I can say it wasn't fair to those coon. I have 8 doz Duke 160s and I'm very happy with them .And like killbuck said I'm way ahead of the game cost wise. ' And I see no reason to own any110s 120s or 155s the 160 does a better job then any of the fore mentioned traps.

Unless you trap in Ohio where 160s are illegal on land.

Why the win? Does Belisle only allow one dozen per customer?

Gary, I agree with your assessment about coons getting caught. I've also caught enough fisher and coon to see a big enough sample and I believe from the evidence I see is that Belisle will dispatch them quicker.

If I was trapping worthless southern fur then it wouldn’t matter. Up here I use belisles!

The Belisle 120 is a really nice trap. Pleasure to work with. Not something I can say about all the others.

Ya. If I need to dispatch every Marten I come up to stuck in a Duke 120, it’s slowing me down! I got traps to check!

Have you ever caught a marten? They 95% dead in footholds and they are real fast to remove from footholds.
