I’m rough on shoes be it the rough rocky ground in the Black Hills of SD or MO or walking the uneven river break country on the side hills river breaks I go where I need to get to. Lately I’ve been going through a lot of shoes/boots because the soles just keep falling apart mostly from the glue separating it’s happened on several pairs of footwear. What became of sewing the soles on now everything is glued on it just doesn’t take the punishment like the old boot that held up.

Luckily I shop ahead with extra pairs on hand so when the old shoes give up the ghost I’m still good. I’ve had 2 pairs of boots and a pair of rubber boots that had sole separations in them. I’m talking wolverines and lacrosse boots so not cheap stuff just made cheap.

Who else has been going through shoes faster than in the past?

I see wolverine now sells very expensive shoes or cheap shoes they made a good boot before now not so much the local farm store had them cheap for crazy days a guy could get 75-80% off it was time to load up.

Tough made lacrosse mining boots great for tree work they are probably snake proof too. The darn things are made in China at least the sole is sewn on the boot!

Everything goes to crap once manufacturers start having their formerly American made stuff made in China. Quality plummets immediately.

Irish Setter boots are a good example. They used to be excellent, long-lasting, rugged hunting boots when they were made here. Now they are crap.

Crispi boots are the best built outdoors boot you can find. You buy a pair of the many varieties they make and you will never need to buy another pair.

6 1/2 is generous. Looks like a 5 to me.

a few years back i picked up 3 pairs of brand new rockys at the Kalamazoo show for me and my sons all 3 seperated from the sole garbage
and lacross 800s i wore every season until about 15yrs ago just to look at them the rubber seemed thinner and i was told they were now being made iChina

I love my Kenetrek boots. Slips and falls are almost nonexistent in the mountains now. I packed a big buck off of a very steep rough mountain a couple weeks ago and never lost my footing once. Worth every dollar I paid for them.

Now made overseas.

My Mountain Extremes are made in Italy.

X2,I am hard on boots but these seem to hold up.

Size 9 they are overbuilt for obvious reasons, for the guys worried about my junk they are a little tight. LOL Second reference from the same guy today beginning to think he’s a little light in the spurs?
