I would rather be bit by almost anything else than a monkey. There's a good chance they will catch something nasty from that bite, if the skin was damaged at all. Monkeys are close enough to us genetically, that most diseases they get can be spread to us. Many monkeys have several strains of hepatitis.

My friend and business partner, for our new nursery business, worked at the New Iberia Primate Research Center in Louisiana and another friend worked at one of the National Primate Centers. They both were vaccinated for everything imaginable. They both had to follow very strict protocols. People get infected and hurt by the monkeys, even with all the precautions.

Monkeys are nasty. I wouldn't want to be near one.

I agree, monkeys are nasty. This was a few weeks ago, and he is fine. The monkeys were raised in captiviy, and may have had shots, but I never asked!

Monkeys are imo one of the most distgusting animals; just above bats.
I had a monkey rush me once in Cambodia, I instictively cocked my foot back in order to kick him through the goal posts. It immediately stopped and recoiled backwards, it was p'od.

According to my son, these moneys would go down you shirt before you knew it was coming. One went down my sons shirt, then pulled his beard on the way out. It then ran across the top of everyones heads, and used the girls hair at the end to swing a quick 180 degree swing, and back across there heads. I dont know what the were, but he said they were to fast to react to.

I got bit by a monkey when I was a little kid. My Dad and I were shopping for a baby Alligator in a pet shop near Madison, WI. They had a Stumptail Monkey on a leash. I reached down and petted him and he went nuts and climbed up on my right shoulder. I looked up at him as he had his teeth bared and he was screaming. I calmly told my Dad "He's got me." and when the owner tried pulling him of of me the monkey chomped down on my shoulder. Finally got him off of me and I proceeded to shop for a baby Alligator.

They let those monkeys get away with a lot. IDK why they don't open a season on them, put the fear of humans back in them.

The problems caused by those nasty critters would go way down pretty quickly.

Tourist attraction with no accountability in a 3rd world country good luck get out and get the shots would be my plan.

Was in Gibraltar when a monkey jumped on top of my head and just sat there. Wife took our picture. It didn’t bite and I did t touch it either.
