I have used it as a club, boat oar, crutch, prybar, and a regular shotgun. Doves, ducks, geese, turkeys, deer, rabbits, you name it I have probably shot it with mine and it just keeps on working. One tough SOB.

So many people mentioning the 870 but not one mention of it's predecessor, the Model 31. which was Remington's answer to the Model 12. I absolutely love mine. I would also like to own a model 12. The two guns are practically twins.

Old pump shotgun would be a Winchester 1897 hands down , older auto loader AL2 Barretta , modern pump action Benelli Nova which I believe is still the fastest pump action shotgun in production which I've killed a lot of geese with mine a modern auto loader Benelli Super Black Eagle you get what you pay for !

I've seen to many of the others fail for simple little things like a O ring that got torn .

The shotgun i had before the first 870 was a Rem. Mod. 31. No complaints on that gun either.

The boys watched "Big Jake" a few days ago. George would sure like to get his hands on that set of guns.

Ok 870 lovers, how about the 870 express? Are we lumping all 870’s together? I think I had an express once in a DU commemorative that I bought and sold without shooting, but no experience being around one.

The Wingmaster and the Express don't compare. One is a decent quality, rugged shotgun, the other is a rough, poorly-built, cheap knock off.
