Take a tip from that old CSI television show. Take a flashlight and you automatically will look right where the lights shining. I've found lots of not lost but misplaced stuff that way.

Yep happens to me with other things. Especially my conibear setter. It did help when I spray painted it blaze orange. This way when I forget it behind its easier to find.

A little EdP wisdom for you folks: To find something you've misplaced, search first inside your head.

I did this when I couldn't fine one of my suppresors. My daughter found it in a box. Apparently I set it on the stainless going uo to the loft and it rolled into the box and the flap covered it up when it popped back up after theh can rolled of it.

Lost (misplaced) something one day. Wife asked what I was looking for. Told her and she then says "Where did you have it last." I just stood there and looked at her. She goes What's wrong? I said if I knew that, it wouldn't be lost now would it. Next thing I know I had to dodge a mixing spoon she had in her hand that she launched at me.

I am currently looking for a bottle of Backbreaker. I know it was on the shelf above my work bench. I looked at it all year. I then needed it two days ago, but it has vanished. I keep a pretty clean garage and have a section that is all trapping-related, (that section has gotten substantially smaller after leaving Alaska!). Everything in a couple of totes, except the few lures I use. Backbreaker MIA.
Fortunately, I had a couple castors from last year, so made up a paste, but am stilled miffed as to where Paul's bottle went.
