Friend of my son did/does. Don't now to much about the operation, believe he raised trout in a couple of ponds.

Not me, but a friend has a small oyster farm....does well with it. I'm assuming they farm oysters in the ocean and not tanks?

Yes, oyster leases on bay bottom here. The oysters are purchased from a hatchery as "spat", itty bitty oysters, they're hybrids that don't spawn, so all their energy goes to growth... within a year they make legal size as halfshells, leave them too long and they get big as a saucer. The oysters are in floating cages that periodically get culled and divided as they grow....can't imagine trying to grow and feed them in upland tanks unless there's a supply of sea water...not cost effective with the price of waterfront land. Very interesting, thank you.
