Dang, that sucks about the traps not firing. Bet you won't be using those pans again!

Hey Roy, would you send me a DM as to which pans you were using? We don't have martin trapping in Wisconsin, so I'll have to incur some expense if I want to get a marten. They are a pretty fur bearer.

Where would you go, Scott? I would look at Montana/Idaho with combination wolf trapping trip or Upper Michigan as possibilities.

I don't know, have not looked into it. Just looked Michigan reg up ... Yes, non residents can trap marten in Zone 1 ( UP) during the 10 ? day season with all the necessary licenses, permits, tags and registration. Wisconsin has a marten restoration area a bit east of my cabin, but I don't see an open season in my lifetime. I'm not sure I could trap marten out west as Wisconsin doesn't have a season.

Thanks for the western states marten trapping info waggler.
Jk, we can only hope that next year Wisconsin can get it's wolf season back again. Really dread having to release them full grown wolves.
And I hear ya about being in better shape.

I looked earlier, and on the permit buying page, for marten and fisher, under non-resident is says N/A so I assumed that meant they could not trap them.

Thanks Leroy, digging deeper I see that non-residents are not eligible for tags for fur bearer with quotas.

Maybe a bunch of you guys should get together with Bruce and plan an Alaska trip. Probably could do it for around 10 grand each! I'll pass on that.
