I'm about to put some new tires on the truck (2021) and would like an opinion or two. It is 4wd but that is not used a lot. Looking for ride and longevity. Thanks, Wally

A passenger tire. You'll get the best fuel economy.....what do you use the truck for?

We have been really pleased with the Falken tires we have used on our trucks.

I am on my 3rd set on my tacoma and have run these on all my vehicles for years. Very happy with them and they get 65,000 plus on them. I owned 2 sets of Goodyear wrangler tires and that was the last time in the mid 90's. I don't even consider buying other tires other than the Cooper AT/3

I have Tacoma’s for work trucks and put on a ton of miles running around for critters. I consistently get over
80 thousand miles on a set of bf Goodrich all terrain ko2 tires They wear perfectly on tacomas. Not as well on tundras tho and need to rotate more often.

I'd still go passenger tire for what your needs seem to be. An all season. Go for best fuel economy.

Just keep in mind highway tires on a 4WD is close to having 2WD when things get slick they are about useless.

Falken Wildpeak AT4. Got 80,000 miles out of my last set and they are not super aggressive so don’t sing in the highway.

I've never had a problem and it's all I've ever run. I use my truck the same way the o.p. Is describing.

If I take the time to look around, there seem to be many folks that shed VERY nice, lightly used tires just to get something fancy or trending.
Some fantastic deals can be found for less than half the price of new ones.
Something some folks won't even consider but can save a lot of $ over the long run.
However, I find it well worth my efforts.

Cheers !

I am watching facebook marketplace and craigslist. I have a friend with a garage who can mount and balance them for me. I'll continue my search.

Consumer reports just published an article on tires if you have access. There was a no name one that ranked very high and I can't recall it. Bridgestone and Falkens were also there I think. I have run the Cooper AT3s and didnt feel like I got near the 65k they said. I run mine on gravel about 30-40% of the time. Above all I want a heavier ply tire as I hate fixing flats and any passenger rated tire won't have the ply rating for me. Will try to find article and report back

vredestein pinza at - rank very well 179$ a tire and 60k - I personally never heard of them

continental terraincontact a/t and michelin ltx a/t2 both rank above the vredestein but are about 100$ higher per tire - I do know the michelin ltx are very good
