Here are some precautions I take for situations like this when it’s possible somebody will drive over your sets.

The stick or post set will have them swerve around it thus not running over your trap. The DHs I set well below the surface. It creates a bowl when the ground freezes and even if they don’t Miss the hole the chances are good that the tire will not destroy the trap.
