Got the princess a mint 65 corvette a few years ago. Told her that was for all gifts for the remainder of our lives. Birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries. Just get her a few trinkets now. Nice !

I bought mine 450# of beef. Well, that and a couple of gold rings with small diamonds. I think she might be happier with the beef but we'll see.

We use one checking account. Don't buy each other gifts. Kinda silly when you been married long as we have. I have in the past bought fur coats and jewelry. Rarely wears either. If one of us wants something we just buy it. (finances permitting) Instead we celebrate with kids and their spouses, grandkids, great grand kid and have a feast. Grandkids all get gifts.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Her two favorite things are sitting in a chair reading and complaining about being cold. She's getting an electric throw blanket. It will take away one of her favorite things. And a stupid bracelet. I don't get it at all but jewelry makes them happy. Just feels like a huge waste of a few hundred dollars to me. They are very strange.
We usually don't get anything for each other. If she wants something she can just buy it. I don't see how my involvement helps.
