Confusing article. He walked the boat back to shallow water........but not to shore?? Maybe to an island? Whatever it was I would trust Bruce's judgment. I am guessing he knows more about the outdoors than many. Moosetrot

I'm sure there's quite a few folks on here that have had some close calls. I once got a bluegill fin in my thumb.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Didn't the article say he flipped the boat...so he was already soaked from head to toe.
Those wet clothes against your core ..are enough to take you out.
Sounds like one of those Tupperware floating things.
Must not have been that cold ..

You have never been cold until you have floated over an hour in October a mile and a half off shore. I don't think my feet have been warm since. Just 3 guys bobbing like corks hanging onto a Duluth pack.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I've been ice fishing in -9 temps and stepped in an 10 inch..
Previously drilled hole...my whole leg when in ...and slammed
My nut sac on the ice...I managed to get back to my truck...with one leg frozen stiff.

Yeah another part of the article I didn't get. Soaked from head to toe, but swimming/wading/walking would have killed him, while standing still for 11 hours wouldn't?

Afraid I'd have been outta there or a statistic before I stood there that long.
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.
