I have been scheduled for a follow-up with the Doc for about 3 months now. Wife says my breathing through the night is a lot more regular than it was pre-CPAP. Made a huge difference for sure.

No caffeine for me. Never drank coffee and stomach does not allow soda pop. At work now. A little sluggish but still kicking.

My doctor has said just that, a very active mind. He prescribed some mild dose of medicine that they give to people with mental problems, to take at nite and quiet my mind.....it didn't work. Ive only slept an average of three hours a day most of my life. I also don't dream

Nessmuck and ADC both gave me advice early on that really helped. Thanks!

Wonderful Wife and I both take a Magnesium Glycinate supplement before bed that has really worked as well.

Awesome.

I've had my machine for 25 - 28 years??? now. Zero doubt in my mind I'd have been dead for years by now without it.

Without my coffee in the morning I’d have no reason to get out of bed most days that’s my go juice to start the day. I go to bed thinking about that first cup of coffee to wake me up, the wife knows no talkie until coffee so my brain is in gear.

I don’t recall but it was something like 3-4x per minute I’d quit breathing for up to 30 seconds at a time.

Working the Dupont 12hr rotating schedule one week on days the next nights. It's hard to not only sleep pro but even eating is off. That is before adding going in early and staying out late.

When I only have 4 hrs to sleep and cant get to sleep I toss and turn then check the clock 3.5 hrs crap repeat 3 hrs. Finally I may fall asleep geting 1.5 or 2 hrs other times I just get up and stay a zombie all day.

I wish I had a suggestion to help but I have nothing to add other than your not alone in not sleeping well.

Worked 12 hour plus rotating shifts for a few years which was worse than working strictly nights. Been a couple years now but my sleep habits still haven’t recovered. I’m a real light sleeper and have to be really exhausted to get a good night sleep. Suspect I may have apnea besides but I’m a stubborn old Norwegian who doesn’t like doctors.

I like days afternoons then mids in that order. Sleep better for sure on any of the others. Been thinking about moving departments so I could have enough seniority to hold day. I know it will be better for my MS. But I will not get 14 days scheduled off a month. So won't get to spend as many days in a roll at home. For example I take 5 to 7 days off in a roll every month. And several I take more tacking in some vacation. Also with the built in overtime its another 15 k a year.

But none of that will mater if my health won't keep holding up to it. I have been cutting back hours a lot the last 2 months.

This is my problem and I'm sure there are others. I have a heck of a time shutting my mind off. I'm a worrier and I'm thinking about things all the time. Not good for me I know as I have high blood pressure (very high). I take 30 mg of melatonin and an advil pm and still sleep like crap.

I also have leg and foot cramps at quite often. I take 500 mg of Magnesium glycinate in the morning like Moosetrot mentioned, sometimes I take it at night as well. It doesn't seem to help and I've been doing it for quite awhile.

I fall asleep fine. Usually by 8:30. Up at 2 am every night to urinate. Then it's hit or miss if I can fall back asleep till my alarm goes off. I can't sleep a whole night through without the bathroom anymore. Sucks.
