A US Army Brigadier General was going over some military police reports , identifying theater wide issues. He looks up and goes , "What's the difference between a 'travesty' and a 'tragedy' ?" . Since nobody spoke up , I did. "Sir, a 'travesty' would be if I crapped on your desk. A 'tragedy' would be if I drowned you in it." . Could've heard a pin drop. The BG and a Navy Captain started roaring. Holding their sides kind of laughing. My enlisted peers ? Not so much. Master Guns and my SGM wanted to have a discussion about my 'professionalism ' immediately after that. It didn't have the intended effect. They also knew it was pointless. People act like humor is poisoned air. Honor a Soldier. Be the kind of American worth fighting for.
