This good girl Chloe has battled an autoimmune disease for the past three years and now has kidney failure. She’s too stressed out in a kennel so she’s in the office with me connected to IV fluids with some nausea control. Not easy managing the telephones and getting refills because she insists on being in my lap and not in the little pop up tent beside me.
She is most beloved by everyone here and of course her owners.
I know her time is short and not everybody agrees with hospitalizing but I sympathize with the owner too.
Nobody wants to have to say goodbye.

Smasho, you really have a heart of gold. Keep up the good work.

We had one of those that lived to be 17 years old. She passed due the same fate. One of my favorite dogs we ever had. She was a sweetheart, but had the heart of a lion.
She once chased a Rottweiler across the street and back over its fence.
Any time someone, even a perfect stranger came over to the house, she would jump up on the couch and snuggle up against them.
It was a very sad day when she passed.
Its cool that y'all are being there for that dog at the end of its journey.

That one tugs at the heartstrings. Dogs are amazing. At least shes in good hands. Feel bad for the dog though.

To me that's the worst thing about owning a pet. They rarely outlive you and letting them go is not easy. We spoil ours and I wouldn't have it any other way. We've been blessed that ours have all been good friendly pets.

She looks like our Molly who died of the same thing a couple of years ago.

Are you staying the night with her there taking her home with you or she going back home? Kind of history hard and close to home here. Im very soft when it comes to dogs.

She is going home with her mom. We are not 24 hours thank God.
Mom reached out to me and she said the doggy ate some venison this evening which is very good. Although I know the nature of the beast when it comes to CKD. We are just buying time. I hope it is quality time. Hospitalizing again tmrw

If that 4# chihuahua had weighed 40# she would have been (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) on wheels

And the JRT didn't have any quit in him either

Lost Sampson to CKD in 2023. Last week of his life he wanted au gratin potatoes and by Jove that’s what he got. Went neurologically bonkers before his will to eat left him. When he tried to drink water and started having seizures I knew it was time. I miss that dog. He was MINE a hundred percent. Never again will I love another dog that much
