Livestock Protection Company 3.5s - because they are nice and would last a lifetime. I didn't read the part about if I had to pay, just what I would want.

MB 550s offset, 2 coil is what I would buy and use because they are good and worth the money

No BS K9 Junior, MB650, and #2 dogless bridgers, my targets are coyote and cats and I haven't been disappointed with any of those.

I was in a similar situation a couple years back. I have both MB and Duke 550/650’s, KB 5.5, victor 3N, Northwoods #2 and #3 DLS, Duke #2 dogless fully modified, NoBS extreme in both standard and wire spring and finally NoBS ex jr in wire spring. They all will catch and hold coyotes and cats.

My favorite is the NoBS jr with wire springs. Great size to not have to use a lot of waxed dirt and bed very easily. Prep is minimal and they are built like a tank.

1.5 coil…. I’ve held all legal fur species in Illinois with one.with the exception of a badger and bobcat.
Although there’s better traps for intended species,,,
I’ve caught and held mink, muskrat, raccoon, possum, beaver otter, coyote, red and grey fox .

… about all I trap is coyote and bobcat

.. I’ve run a few different traps

… ended up retooling to 90% bridger 2 dogless 4 coil

… they bed even easier than 550’s and are low maintenance once you level the pan

Insert profound nonsense here

#2 bridgers here, too.
Monty #2 round jaw would me second choice.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

For anything on land in the eastern part of the country...if I would have answered this 10 years ago I would have said the mb550 now I say the mb450. Great all around predator trap and very foot friendly.

Sleepy Creek #11 for the trapping I do.

Why do I carry 10mm? Because shooting twice is just silly.

If you could only utilize one trap (style, size, brand etc.) for both species what would it be; and why? Thank you!

#2 Victor Montgomery offset, seems like it will hold about anything.

If I had to pick just one for my needs, 99% chance I would go with the MB 550. I trap mostly cats and yotes, we have very few foxes around here. They suit my needs good since they're durable and bed easily, they're serviceable. They just work good in my little piece of the world.
