Who loads it? Whats your load data? Don't worry, lm not gona hold anyone accountable for their load data. I just want real,tested experiences from experienced hand loaders. I realize there may be better powders for the caliber. Just playing with some stuff i have on hand. Getting disappointing results from h335. Looking fora varmet load using 53 gn v-max bullets. But I played with it a decent lil bit when I first started, worked pretty good but switched to others just die to price. So far Ramshot X-Terminator has been amazing in a few loads for me , but that's with heavies

Thanks Wolf. I also have that app. More to the point, im having what I think is an accuracy problem. I have been testing different loads for about a year. Cant nail anything down. A little more info; ar15, 16" barrel, nice trigger. I mostly thermal hunt but not limited to thermal. Just trying to work up a good hunting load. Have been shooting factory hornady 53 gn superformance. They do their job, but not great on paper. Looking to work up a load comparable to that load performance wise just more accurate. Questioning my barrel somewhat because all the "accuracy" loads seem to be the poorest in my rifle.

Are you testing for an "accurate" load using the thermal or a normal scope?

Every internet 223 discussion has someone who uses varget as their go to load so it must be pretty good.

I tried W748 cause it flows so smooth, was available, and my 17rem likes it. Luckily enough my 223 loved it. Using 52gr Sierra HP's

I don't know about 223 but you load a 17 Remington with a 25 grain hollow point and varget and every fox and coyote with in 300 yards are dead.

I know this doesn’t answer your question but…. Both my 223s and my 222rem mag love CFE223.

24 grains behind a 69gr hpbt if im not mistaken.

And I have a .222 that likes 4895 and 52 grain Nosler BR bullets. But not Ballistic tips.

I have a Rem 700 7x57 that one holes ANY Speer bullet weight. Not so much others.

Sometimes it's not the powder.

I use it to load 223 for a bolt action. I load 26.5gr pushing a Hornady 53gr hollow point COL 2.310. I also load it with a 50gr Spire point, 26.2gr COL2.210

I have not been very impressed with the accuracy of Varget in all but one 308 rifle. It is a good option across a wide range, just not the best option. This has been my experience. My 223/5.56 rifle prefer cfe223/ar comp/8208.

I load varget in 260 and 7mm-08. My favorite for 223/556 is 8208 xbr. It is an extruded stick powder but pieces small enough it meters as well as ball powder and is also temp stable.

Never had much luck with Varget in any rifle I've tested it in.

Way better results for me using imr 8208xbr. H335 I found is best for plinking loads.

What twist barrel do you have? A lot of older models with all 1:12 That 53 gr bullet needs a faster twist to stabilize

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. As stated above maybe a different bullet would group better, just really like the performance of the v-max on coyotes.

not sure why but blitz kings always grouped better out of my AR. And preform well on yotes. I tried with the v max they were cheaper but just could not get them to shoot as tight. Had to be the more attractive green tips making the difference. I was hiting dimes with green and nickels with red. Both good enough.
