Most everyone knows that I had back surgery in mid November and didn't get to start trapping early.
I had planned on getting some cages out on January 1st, I couldn't find anywhere I wanted to put a cat cage trap, so I held off on them.
Yesterday while checking a cable restraint I found a heavily traveled trail that cuts through some brush about 60 feet long. I popped in a blind set at each end of it and put out 2 cages for coon on a coon trail that crosses the original trail.
This morning my neighbor called to let me know that I have a bobcat waiting on me.
He's spending a lot of money on quail habitat and food plots this year and wants every cat, yote and nest raiders that I catch dead.
She's kinda small, but I'm honoring my neighbors wishes.

No bait or lure

Just a simple blind trail set.

Have one at the stick closer to the middle of the pic and another just beyond the cedar tree. Both in the trail seen in the picture

Usually the deer use this trail more. But this year it's beat down with coyote and cat tracks.

Going back up this afternoon to put in a few more sets in this area and another place where I found a small cat toilet.

I can't complain about my neighbors. I help them anytime they need help.

While I was doing the remake from this cat. Another neighbor came over and took me to look at some beaver damage. Ended up finding a smoking hot Otter toilet (unfortunately it's about 10-12 feet away from the water)

The Otter will be a big learning experience for me. I don't know squat about them.

Nice cat in a nice clean set. It is great to have good neighbors. The main thing to know about otters is you would like them to be belly up when you catch one. They do not play nice.
