Ordered a fender molding for my old 4 ATV it was shipped out of Omaha then it went to Fargo ND then Bismarck ND now it’s at another distribution center in Indianapolis IN. It was scheduled to be here Friday looks like maybe sometime next week you gotta love that kind of service.

I shipped a fishing pole (pack rod) to Hawaii November 24th. It went from MSP to Denver and then to NEW JERSEY. It sat there for a week. It arrived in Richmond, Ca on 12/12 and sat there until 12/21. It was finally delivered on 12/29.

I have nothing clever to put here.

After some really screwy experiences of lost, delayed, and otherwise messed up package deliveries I am of the opinion that USPS cease deliveries of packages and only deal with typical mail. They have proven, at least to me, that they are woefully incompetent and other modes (UPS, FedEx, etc.) are far more adept and competent at providing package delivery service.

The USPO is being looked into by our representatives in DC the service has become so bad in SD. Before this a letter from Western SD took 13 days to get to central SD (weekend included).

Most sellers refuse to use USPS. How much less shipping are they doing? Classic example of what happens when liberals run anything.

Hmm, at the risk of stepping into this hole, I have had no trouble shipping anything thru Postal service from my state to so far any where in our country or Alaska or Canada, some times the shipping date is a few days off of their saying though !

Though I do make a real effort to not use them when shipping out of country, and ask my customers to give me some one or a certified shipper they trust in third world countries, which so far most of the time I ship to some one they have coming to them from our country and they will carry the order to them, this is always successful as well, most of my out of country shipping with large orders in not so small countries is UPS or Fed-EX though due to customer requests, but they are paying for it not me !

I actually have more waiting trouble in line with the people doing the counter work, due to miss-spelling or cannot read !!

Aaaaand, they are raising their rates again on Jan. 18. Forever stamps aren't changing but package rates are going up 5.1-7.8%. Amazing!

For while UPS was being subsidised by government. Would ship east or west coast to STL in two days. Then USPS was contracted to deliver. Average 5 days to deliver within 20 miles after they received. They quit updating their tracking to help hide incompetence.

Post office does ok around here, occasional hiccup but by and large stuff gets here, or where it needs to go...now the cost of the shipping is a whole other matter!.

Do you monitor their tracking of shipped packages? Shippers don't track till reciever start complaining about no package.

Unreal!!!
I been on both sides of long wait to deliver and receiving ends. We didn't get mail till yesterday and it was 6 days of no mail till yesterday. We can track what we are suppose to get each day so at least we have that to go on if we don't get that piece of mail.
It is absolutely crazy!!!!

I miss the old days when there was no tracking. You just stick it in the mail and when it arrives, it arrives. Probably took the same routes back then, maybe was a little quicker since there weren't so many packages back then. I'd say they do pretty dang good considering the sheer volume they have to deal with these days. I give everyone I ship to the tracking number, then tell them not to use it unless they want to get ticked about the route it takes to get to you.

In ND the sticker has your plate number on it. It is pretty easy to see if it is on the right vehicle. I would rather wait on the mail, then the License and Registration section of he NDDOT. You can wait in a non moving line a long time.
I get mail that is not mine every week. The mail is sorted 150 miles from here. The post office 6 miles away, does not sort mail. The mail is in stacks or bundles that are rubber banded together. They look at the top one and nothing else. It is jacked up at best. All the delivery is done by contract. The driver goes into the post office and takes all the stacks of mail that are for their route and away they go. If I give mail back to the PO that is not mine, they ship it 150 miles to be sorted again.

They might save a lot of money if they stop sending packages to several different hubs in other states when I’m just 1 state away. LOL So far it went from NE to ND now it’s in IN it’s getting further away. eek

I was getting wrong mail all the time. I took a sharpy and circled address. Wrote wrong address not thinking about it. Received a note from mail man telling me not to write on mail. I did not think about at time but guess they don't want their incompetence know by others. I never did it again and have not received someone else mail in two years. Also anything i mail that is important goes direct to post office box. Thats another story for another day.
