What is everyone's sets they use on a colony of beaver when you 1st go in and do you use more then 1 lure.

Castor mounds and blind sets

I run one lure for a week....catch as many as I can . Fake pull outs..guarded with a well hidden 330

Footholds if you have enough water...4 feet at least..

Blind sets in a small stream...where the gravel is all shined up from the beavers traveling.

Then ....when traps go quiet for 3 days....break out the Bob Wilson's Green Beaver lure...for the

Smaaht ones....usually Big Mama

Run traps for first check without lure...set up fresh sign...chewed sticks , fresh muddy slides, cross overs etc. Second check break out the castor and use a dab at the sets that didn't connect and repeat.

What said above plus crossovers. Foot hold on the deep water side and a 330 downstream. Small dam breaks on the third day with a foot hold. I've had good luck settting that trap a little deeper and using chest poke sticks. In Ohio anything 160 or bigger has to be totally under water.
