Perch are the best eating fish there is. Nice that you have a granddaughter that likes to fish. Memories to cherish.

we have many perch in the 12-16 inch size, breeder, is what they call them, most throw them back, I keep 7-10 myself, we prefer them that size and the eggs are best in the smaller ones, anyone wants to come up and fish they are welcome to use my shack, had a couple of pike today

Looks good to me…… we always split the bunch of eggs in half before frying …. Seemed to keep them from splitting open and popping a bit…… you ever try pike eggs. ?? They are not bad either…..

Ice fishing is on my bucket list. I have always wanted to try it nice mess of fish. I have never tried yellow perch how are they compared to crappie?

Love me some ice fishing, perch especially. Picked up this 14" mama a couple weeks ago on Lake Gogebic.

Perch are much better than crappie IMO. Nice, firm meat and not "fishy" tasting at all. Best freshwater fish there is.

OK photo choped. Should be good eating. Most of the big perch I have caught had white spots on the gills was told bye people not to eat. Might have missed some eating? Anybody have an opinion ?

I took enough pics and measurements to have a reproduction made, but let her go. It beat my previous best by half an inch, but I know there's bigger ones out there.

My buddy had a 15-1/2" today, my best was 14-3/4".

Was up at lotw last weekend we caught 4 fish over 26” this was the second fish caught on the first day and plenty of eaters,fishing was good,weather sukd

Thats to vague of a question. It depends on what you are fishing , how your fishing, and what type of bait you are using.
