Found two plastic bait jars 1/2 empty I had stashed. Still a little moist but lost there late season skunk call. Is there anything to add making usable. I dont seem to have this problem using glass jars.

No scent to you is not the same as no scent to a canine. Stir it up and try it.

Do you think add water or urine to loosen up or something more freeze proof.

Today I just found a plastic box full of lures, urine and bait under the shed where I flesh hides. The box was under that shed for at least 2 years. The urine and lure didn't have much smell, but the bait was off the charts! I threw the urine out as I have a lot of it and the lures I will use, as just because I can't smell them doesn't mean the critters can't. The bait was homemade and you can smell it a half a mile away. I'm thinking sense the smells of the lures has dulled down, it might work as its not in their face, its subtle. I say give it a try. Maybe try a set with new stuff and near it a set with the old stuff. You never know what is going to trigger something to commit to your sets, so give them a buffet.

I've bought LDC lure from a top dealer/ lure maker and kept it until the next season
only to open it and not be able to smell any skunk. That's a problem !

Skunk is very volatile and difficult to lock down in a formula.

Most any skunky LDC type lure will need skunk added to it if carried over year to year to keep it poppin’.

Had to take two years off due to an injury. I would guess these unopened jars that have been in the basement out of sunlight are still good? Going to put some sets out this week.

I still have lure made by the late Mel Hershberger of Arizona.
Bought it from his son Levi after his death in either '95 or '96.
Still smells like the day he made it.
Want to know what makes a lure last ?
Do the math.
